Some people may be wondering why, if my name is generally accepted to be Capella, my journal is Cahalith. The answer to that is a bit involved, but will hopefully clarify some things for the curious. A Cahalith is one of the five auspices a werewolf can be in the Werewolf: The Forsaken game from White Wolf Publishing. Cahaliths are born under the gibbous moon. A Cahalith is generally passionate, driven, and expressive; most Cahaliths have intense dreams and almost all suffer from an intense desire to express themselves by creating something. They are the vision-questers, the dreamers, the lore-keepers, and the creatives of the Uratha. I have always been a writer and felt the need to create characters and write about them. I am an anthropology major, interested in cultures and history and the hows and whys of a society. I believe my personality fits perfectly within a Cahalith. As such, I choose the label Cahalith for my journal because it expresses what I want this place to be: a place where I can express myself to the fullest, whether it be my words, ruminations, dreams, or creative expressions. My nickname may change, and has changed over the years (Cory, Rena, Capella), but my identity never has. Even before I heard the term, I always behaved as a Cahalith. Name may change, but inherent identity doesn't.
